Lunch & Learn Series

The Subject:

Designed for Impact: Maximizing the value of your business

“We are here to make another world.” - W. Edwards Deming

As an industrial engineer and a consultant, I am often asked to “make processes more efficient.” My response to this question is often puzzling to the inquisitor, because regularly I suggest, “Perhaps the most efficient thing that we can do is stop doing that process altogether. Until we can determine ‘why’ we are doing this process in the first place, we can’t decide if efficiency is the right objective.”

The underlying question of ‘why’ is a question that we do not ask enough in business. At GridWell, we believe the answer to this question is the starting point for all business design. What is the purpose of our organization? What impact is our organization designed to make in the world (the market) and the lives of our customers? If we answer that question well, we create a source code or DNA for every aspect of our business.

In this Lunch and Learn, you will learn the power of starting with purposed impact. From this starting point, we will explore how it can be used to form the foundation of healthy culture and focused execution. The alignment of culture and performance is what allows companies such as Apple, Chick-fil-A, Trader Joe’s, and Patagonia to create cult-like customer following and market share in very difficult, competitive markets. How will you maximize the value of your business?

The Expert:

GreeneBradley M. Greene, Ph.D., collaborates with leaders who have a desire to take their organizations to new levels of prosperity and impact. He has a doctorate in Industrial Engineering with an emphasis in the lean enterprise, but it’s his 15 years of experience in business and social system design that he draws from to work with leaders to translate vision and mission into a path forward.

As Chief CoCreator, Brad leads the GridWell team. GridWell's take on consulting is a little different. They don't bring the answers. Instead, they bring the principles and tools that enable your organization to solve its biggest problems. Their backgrounds include Industrial Engineering, Branding, Psychology, and Community Development. The GridWell team melds their various skills together to design processes and structures that enable organizations to deliver higher levels of impact through their products, services, and culture.

Lunch Provided.
