The Legacy Centre Speaker Series with Roby Robinson

"Made for More: Mining Your Own Intellectual Property" presented by Roby Robinson, Registered Patent Attorney and Founder, Robinson IP Law, PLLC

IP Law

Can you feel it? Restrictions are lifting, store foot traffic is picking up, commerce is on the rise. Fear no longer holds its sting, freedom is our friend, hope is in the air...

Business is back. Life is good again. Oh, what a feeling!

Alongside this renewal, we are seeing more and more businesses and entrepreneurs putting their focus back on innovation and growth. But just as our Founding Fathers designed the patent system to “stimulate the inventive genius and entrepreneurial energy of the common man,” so too should we take the necessary steps to safeguard our intellectual property. To this day, intellectual property plays a crucial role in supporting business innovation, promoting progress and productivity, and growing the economy.

Every company uses and has intellectual property. Some of it belongs to you and/or your business. A challenge is knowing what you own (or should own) and then claiming it as your own.

Whether it is copyrighted expressive material in your work product, unregistered trademarks or trade dress that your company uses, or concepts that you could patent for yourself or your company, intellectual property is all around you, impacting you on a daily basis. These assets have value — some more than others. A challenge is accurately identifying them and taking proactive steps to protect what is yours.

Join us on Friday, June 11, as Roby Robinson, a highly respected attorney in Intellectual Property Law, helps you to identify what types of intellectual property might be lurking in your business (or even in your head), and then provide guidance on what steps to take to maximize the value of these intangible assets.

Reserve your seat now for this in-person event...or join us virtually! We look forward to seeing you at TLC!

Note: Please be aware that this event will be held both in-person at The Legacy Centre office building (not at Friedman's Appliances) and virtually via Zoom. During registration, you will be given the option to choose in-person or virtual attendance. Virtual registrants will be emailed a link to the program one day prior to the event. Also, we will continue to follow health guidelines, including physically distanced chairs. Guests are not required to wear masks but are welcome to do so. Thank you!
