Tour of Bush’s® Visitor Center
As part of our annual Celebration of Family Business Month, TLC families will be taking a trip over to the home of Bush’s® Beans on Saturday, November 13. Bush’s® Visitor Center is nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Chestnut Hill. Of course, you may stay as long as you desire, but you can count on us being there between 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
During our stay, we will tour A.J. Bush's General Store and Museum and grab some lunch at Bush’s® Family Café. It's all housed in the original A.J. Bush & Company General Store, founded in 1897 and right next door to A.J. & Sallie Bush's old homestead. Among other things, your family can trace the values and events that made Bush's what it is today, get a sneak peek at what goes into making those world-famous beans, watch a "behind the scenes" video in the Museum Theatre, taste a variety of delicious bean dishes at the Café (see menu), and more fun for the entire family! In fact, the Bush family has recommended that you try Bush’s® Pinto Bean Pecan Pie. It's our personal favorite too!
Just watch out! The drive up should be pleasant - you know - nice company, changing leaves, and beautiful scenery. The trip home? Let's just say you should not have to stop for gas! On second thought... Fun times! :) Just a little family business humor for the road!

Here's a quick checklist of what you need to know and/or do:
- Please try to register online by Friday, November 12, via the link above with the names/number of family members who will be in your party.
- Leave early enough on Saturday morning to get to Chestnut Hill by 10 a.m. Chestnut Hill is nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. (It should take you about one hour from Knoxville via I-40 - see map/directions via link above.)
- Arrive safe and sound! We'll be looking for your family's smiling faces at the entrance to the Visitor Center at 10 a.m.
- Admission is free. Just make sure you have some money for lunch at Bush’s® Family Café. To beat the crowds, we plan to eat lunch together around 11 a.m.
- Hopefully enjoy some great fall weather and beautiful leaves on the road and then hurry home to cheer on the Vols at 3:30 p.m.! :)
Registration Note: Please let us know the number of people in your family who plan to attend as soon as possible. With over 1000 visitors per day during peak leaf season, it will be nice to give them a heads up. Thanks!
