The Legacy Centre Speaker Series with Ted Hall

“The Most Important Lesson in Life” presented by Ted Hall, News Anchor & Managing Editor, WVLT News

On May 14, we are very honored to welcome Knoxville’s beloved news anchor Ted Hall as our special guest speaker!

With over three award-winning decades in the business, most of which have been in Knoxville, chances are you have watched Ted Hall on tv for years, admired his career, but perhaps never really known the man behind the desk. You will be amazed and touched by his journey. At the height of his career, Ted and his wife, Lesa, got some devastating news that changed everything and set their family on a new path.

Hall’s story is one that calls us to examine our lives, to put an exclamation point on the things that matter most, and to have the courage and conviction to say ‘no’ when it means saying ‘yes’ to God’s best.

Join us on May 14th and learn what Ted Hall believes is the most important lesson in life, how a haircut can shape a life, and some other things you might not know about the guy you may have seen on tv. If you ask us, it has all the hallmarks of a hit story!

Note: This is an in-person event with a full breakfast. To help us reserve the appropriate number of seats and food, please ensure your registration is firm. Thank you!

Meet Our Speaker: Ted Hall

Ted HallTed Hall anchors the 5:00, 6:00 and 11:00 p.m. newscasts on WVLT and the 10:00 p.m. newscast on CW. He also serves as the Managing Editor.

He has been honored in journalism with several Emmy, Edward R. Murrow, and other awards in his three plus decades in news.

Ted says he and his family are thrilled to be back in East Tennessee. All three of his children were born in Knoxville during his 18 years at WBIR.

In 2005, he went to WXIA-TV in Atlanta as evening news anchor. After 8 years there, Ted is truly happy to call WVLT home.

Ted's broadcasting career started in 1983 at KNAB-AM/FM in Burlington, Colorado. His first Television news job was at KLOE-TV/AM in Goodland, Kansas. Their claim to fame was being the smallest TV station in America that did its own local newscasts.

Ted also worked at Wichita, Lawrence and Topeka, Kansas TV stations before coming to Knoxville. Before his professional life he lived in Minnesota, Idaho, and British Columbia, Canada.

When not at work Ted enjoys football, travel, tennis, golf, working out, movies, reading, church and family time.

As the father of a son who had a cancerous brain tumor, much of Ted's community efforts focus on raising money to fight cancer and help other kids.

Ted and wife Lesa have been married for over 30 years.

Coffee, full breakfast, and TLC served.
