The Expert:
Sean W. Brewer, CPA, is Director of Taxation at Bible Harris Smith, PC, and specializes in providing tax services to businesses and individuals. He has tax experience with a variety of industries including real estate developers, real estate rental companies, and manufacturers to name a few. He also has experience with both multi-state and consolidated tax returns. His services include:- Preparation and review of corporation, partnership, individual, estate and trust tax returns
- Consultation with client personnel on accounting assistance matters and business transactions
- Researching the tax consequences of various transactions
- Tax projections
Sean spent over 16 years with a local public accounting firm in the Knoxville market before joining Bible Harris Smith as a tax officer in August of 2014.
Sean has presented continuing education topics to the Knoxville chapter of the Tennessee Society of CPAs, at the SCS Government Contracting Seminar, at the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance annual seminar and at the Singleton B. Wolfe Memorial Tax Conference in addition to others.
Sean is a member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Sean is a 1992 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. He graduated from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting. In 1997 he graduated from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Master of Accountancy degree with a tax concentration.
Sean is married to Jenny Brewer, a local CPA. His son, Evan, is completing his masters of accountancy at the University of Tennessee. He has a job lined up to begin next fall with a local CPA firm. His daughter, Abby, is completing her undergraduate degree in biochemistry also at the University of Tennessee. She is engaged to be married in June and has her sights set on medical school beginning the fall of 2025.
